This was the first F-C Vacharat piece produced using molding clay for structure. It creates a mountain range with snow capped peaks on our snow acrylic. A surprise feature in the blue and white painting is a woman's outline.
From AAV:
"In perusing this article in the Public Domain Review, I was struck by the way the back of a human figure, absent a face, allows the form and landscape of a body to capture the viewer. When presented with only the back, we can appreciate the body as an element of nature, rather than a character with a story, or an object of desire.
Here, a woman, turned away (my loose rendition of this drawing from 1889, which was referenced in the article above), blends seamlessly into a mountain range—non-sensual, non-explicit. In fact, she is nearly indistinguishable, only a landscape herself, made up of the same curves and ridges and valleys as some of the largest natural forms."
